Turkey, or to be more precise the Belek region, which lies on Turkey’s southern Mediterranean coastline 30 km to the east of Antalya, is quite simply one of the finest golfing regions anywhere in the world.

In the 1990’s the Turkish Government set aside the land in this region with the specific purpose of it being developed as a world leading golf destination. Within ten years 14 courses have opened with designers such as Nick Faldo, Colin Montgomery and Perry Dye all contributing to the magnificent golfing landscape.

With the exception of the Lykia Links course, which incidentally is as true a links layout as you will experience anywhere outside of the UK, all the courses are within a 20 km stretch of land, with the average driving time from any hotel to a course being twelve minutes! And a big plus point is that you don’t have to do the driving as transfers are included with every round we book for you.

The general quality of the courses and hotels is superior to any of the major European golfing destinations, and is comparable to some of the most prestigious resorts in the USA. The hotels have been built on a grand scale with many of them boasting as many as 600+ rooms and restaurants and facilities to match.

Taking a holiday in Belek is quite different from most European resorts. All inclusive is the norm, and generally is of a very high standard. If a big part of your holiday is frequenting the local bars and restaurants, then Belek might not be for you! However all the hotels have numerous bars and restaurants with most having at least two a la carte restaurants.

The majority of courses have been cut through Pine forests, which provide the perfect environment for top quality courses. The Turkish authorities take the care and maintenance of the forests very seriously, each tree is individually numbered and the golf courses and hotels are not permitted to cut or prune any tree without permission! This attention to detail extends to the maintenance of the courses and the service levels in the clubhouses, many of which are like small hotels with palatial facilities.

When you’re not playing golf there’s plenty to do at the hotels. Most have excellent Spas and offer free entry and use of the facilities, all you pay for are the treatments. All the hotels we feature, with the exception of the Sueno, have beach front locations, and if you prefer to swim in a pool you won’t be disappointed as they all have large outdoor and indoor pools.
 

AM’s Opinion
Don’t have any doubts about the quality of Belek as a golfing destination, the facilities at both the courses and hotels are first class. The transfer services to the courses work really well and when combined with the ‘All Inclusive’ arrangements at most hotels, it really makes for a most relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
