Description

The Vale do Lobo courses are two of the most photographed courses in the world. Both courses were originally designed by Sir Henry Cotton and redeveloped by the respected American architect Rocky Roquemore. The Vale do Lobo courses have hosted the Portuguese Open on two occasions. 

VALE DO LOBO ROYAL
18 Holes, Par 72
Championship Tees = 6059 metres
The Royal course has one of the most exciting holes in golf. Its 16th is a par 3 that runs along the cliff edge and requires a shot that will carry the ravine that cuts into the fairway. Most of the course is a parkland layout with umbrella and fig trees lining the fairways. The Royal is a little tighter than the Ocean course and requires accurate driving to score well.

VALE DO LOBO OCEAN
18 Holes, Par 73
Championship Tees = 6137 metres
The Ocean course is equally as good as the Royal with a number of holes sweeping down to the beach. The course is a little more forgiving than the Royal with more space off the tee. The 11th and 14th are two demanding par fours and the par three 15th is probably the most scenic hole as it runs alongside the beach.

The Vale do Lobo Golf Club is situated 20 km to the west of Faro airport, a driving time of approximately 25 minutes. The club is easy to find as it’s located in the heart of the Vale do Lobo estate.
