La Cala is a truly spectacular resort with three excellent courses, state of the art golf academy and Spa.

Situated in the hills, 15 km to the north west of Fuengirola, it’s the largest and most popular golf resorts in Spain. The hotel is a stylish Andalucian design, with a central courtyard and very pleasant pool area. The hotel’s Spa has been cleverly built into the lower floor, and has some novel features like a window in the sauna which gives customers views of the Asia course. Plus the outside Jacuzzi sits on a balcony overlooking the 18th fairway. All the hotels bedrooms have large balconies and the majority have golf course views, the remainder overlook the pool area. The Deluxe rooms also have large roof top terraces which are perfect for some private sunbathing!
 
The hotel is situated next to the clubhouse and its two tennis courts. All three of the resorts courses can be accessed from the central clubhouse, and although buggies are not compulsory they are almost essential, especially if you are playing the Europa course.

There are a number of private developments scattered throughout La Cala, which contribute to the lively ambience of the resort. However, during the evenings it’s fairly quiet and most people choose to either dine in the hotel restaurant, or head down the road to La Cala beach, which is 6 km away and has a good selection of bars and restaurants, or the lively town of Fuengirola which is 15 km.

AM’s Opinion
La Cala is one of the most efficiently and well run golf resorts in Spain. The courses are spectacular, a little hilly, but great fun. It’s a resort that can cater well for all party sizes, and the contrast between the cosy ambience of the hotel and busy clubhouse works well.

La Cala is situated 35 km to the west of Malaga airport a driving time of approximately 30 minutes. It's approximately 7km to the north of La Cala beach, off the A7, the old main coastal road.
