The Praia D’El Rey Marriott is a truly wonderful resort and was voted ‘Golf Resort of the Year Europe 2007’ by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO). When you visit Praia D’El Rey you will soon realize why it has been so highly acclaimed. The stylish Marriott hotel sits on the beach front providing stunning views of the rugged coast and Atlantic Ocean – make sure you visit the hotel's ‘Cliff’s’ lobby bar, it’s a great place to enjoy a drink whilst taking in the superb sea views. The Praia D’El Rey course is one of the best in Portugal, indeed it has been ranked by ‘Golf World’ magazine as 80th in the world! It’s a contrast of forest and true links holes providing a unique and very enjoyable golfing experience. If you want an additional course to play then we recommend Golden Eagle, it’s only a 25 minute drive and a top class parkland layout situated in a beautiful valley where you might actually catch a glimpse of a Golden Eagle! Away from the course the medieval town of Obidos is a 15 minute drive and is a lovely place to have a relaxing meal and walk the cobbled streets. Lisbon city centre is only an hours drive and makes for a great day out. The hotel has a very pleasant and comfortable layout. The standard rooms are a good size and come with garden views, however, if you want to spoil yourselves, upgrade to an Ocean view room and take advantage of the hotel’s unique beach front location. There's a choice of three restaurants, the Atlantic Grill serves buffets of local specialities, the Romy is a gourmet restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine and the Sharx Bar & Grill is the poolside restaurant.
